How do I turn on GST and add my GSTIN in Vyapar?
In Vyapar, click the Settings gear in the left menu, open Taxes & GST and switch GST on (also enable HSN/SAC if you need it). Then click your business name at the bottom left and enter the business GSTIN, state, PIN code and address, and open each party in the Parties section to confirm their GSTIN and state.
Steps
Vyapar's own guide describes the desktop app. Mobile menus can differ.
- Open Vyapar and click the Settings gear icon in the left menu.
- Under Taxes & GST, turn on GST. Enable HSN/SAC Code and any other GST details your business needs.
- Click your business name at the bottom left corner and enter the business GSTIN, state, PIN code and address.
- Go to Parties, open each customer, confirm the GSTIN and state, and click Update.
- In the Item List, set each item's tax rate and HSN/SAC code.
Check the GSTIN before you rely on it
A GSTIN has a fixed structure and a check character. A mistyped one still saves in most software, then fails at return time.
