How do I create a GST invoice in Vyapar?
After turning on GST in Settings > Taxes & GST, click + Add Sale, pick the customer, add items (the preset GST rate and HSN apply), check that local sales show CGST and SGST and inter-state sales show IGST, add any extra charges, and click Save. Then print or share the invoice by WhatsApp or email.
Steps
From Vyapar's own invoice guide for the desktop app.
- Turn on GST under Settings > Taxes & GST and add your business GSTIN.
- On the dashboard click + Add Sale, or open the Sale section.
- Select the customer and confirm their GSTIN and state in their profile.
- Click the + at the top right of the item table and enable HSN/SAC, Discount and GST.
- Click Add Items and choose products or services.
- Check the tax at the bottom: CGST and SGST for local sales, IGST for inter-state sales, based on the place of supply.
- Add extra charges such as shipping, review the total and click Save.
- Click Print for a hard copy or Share to send it by WhatsApp or email.
FAQs
How does Vyapar decide between CGST/SGST and IGST?
Per Vyapar's guide it uses the place of supply, so local sales carry CGST and SGST and inter-state sales carry IGST.
