Why can't I import my bank statement into Zoho Books?
Zoho's help centre lists four causes: the file is not in a supported format (PDF, CSV, TSV, XLS, OFX or QIF), a PDF was altered or renamed after download, required fields are missing or not mapped correctly during import, or the statement is still processing, which can take up to 48 hours.
Fixes, in order
Zoho's troubleshooting article gives these four checks for the Banking module.
- Use a supported format: PDF, CSV, TSV, XLS, OFX or QIF.
- For a PDF, download it straight from your bank's website and keep the file name unchanged.
- Make sure every required field is in the file and mapped to the matching Zoho field on the mapping step of the import.
- If a delay message appears, wait up to 48 hours. If the transactions still do not appear, contact Zoho support.
How the import works
Open Banking, choose the account and use Import Statement. Upload the file, choose how amounts are laid out (separate deposit and withdrawal columns, one amount column with a debit or credit marker, or one signed column), map the fields, and check the preview. Imported lines arrive as uncategorized transactions to categorize or match.
FAQs
How long can a statement take to appear?

Can I save the field mapping?
Zoho's import help lets you save your mapping preferences so later imports of the same layout map automatically.
